2017 PUYALLUP CYCLOPATHS’ RIDE SCHEDULE

April 15: Narrows Bridge – Gig Harbor – Kitsap Ride (~40-50 miles)

April 29: To Be Determined (depending on snow conditions)

May 13: Alder Lake Loop Ride with “The Climb” option (Orting à Eatonville à Alder Lake à and back (~55 miles round trip; with “The Climb” option added ~65 miles, 4,000’ climbing)

June 10: Skate Creek Loop Ride (start area à Nisqually Entrance to Mt Rainier à Paradise à Box Canyon à Backbone Ridge à Ohanapecosh à Packwood à Skate Creek Road à back to where we started) (~80 miles; 6,000’ climbing)

June 24: Sunrise Ride (with Crystal Mtn. and Cayuse Pass added?? – we’ll figure it out – but plan on one or two trips up Sunrise during this ride)

July 4: Triple-By-Pass Ride (start at top of Cayuse Pass à Chinook Pass à down east side of Chinook Pass to Hwy 12 near Naches à climb the east side of White Pass on Hwy 12 à descend the west side of White Pass to Hwy 123 à climb the south side of Cayuse Pass back to where we started) (~114 miles; 7,000’ climbing)

July 27: RAMROD (we will be entering as teams – maximum of 5 riders per team – contact Les Becker or Leon Matz if you are interested in doing RAMROD – so far, I believe that we have ~7 guys who have expressed an interest) (~150 miles; 9500’ climbing)

Aug 5: Rainiering “Warm Up” Ride (start at Grove of the Patriarchs à climb east side of Backbone Ridge à climb to Paradise à descend to Longmire à climb back up to Reflection Lake à back to vehicles à restock at vehicles à climb south side of Cayuse Pass à descend north side of Cayuse Pass to Sunrise turnoff à retrace our path back to top of Cayuse Pass à climb to Chinook Pass à retrace our steps to vehicles) (~97 miles, 11,000’ climbing)

Aug 17: “Rainiering” Ride (**Note: this is a Thursday – to minimize traffic issues**) (start at Grove of the Patriarchs à climb Backbone Ridge and Paradise and down the west side to Longmire à retrace our path back to vehicles à restock at vehicles à climb south side of Cayuse Pass à descend north side of Cayuse Pass to Sunrise turnoff à climb to Sunrise Visitor Center à descend from Sunrise and climb north side of Cayuse Pass à from top of Cayuse Pass, climb to Chinook Pass à descend back down Chinook Pass and down the south side of Cayuse Pass back to vehicles) (~135 miles; 14,500’ of climbing)

Sep 9: Mt. St. Helens (west side) (Tour de Blast route) (~84 miles; 7,100’ climbing) (Note: whether or not we do this ride will depend on how many people are still interested in doing a ride by this time of the season)

Sep 23: Haller Pass Ride (this ride is mostly on gravel forest service roads – i.e. this is a cyclocross or mountain bike ride) (~35 miles; 4400’ of climbing) (fun ride, beautiful ride – don’t let the 35 mile length fool you, you will not lack for exercise) (here is the route as shown on Strava: Haller Pass Route

** I will try to send out a “reminder” ten days in advance of each ride. Please respond at least a week ahead of the ride if you are interested in going, so that I can determine if there is enough interest to do the ride. If there is a lack of interest, we will simply cancel the ride. **
